Frequently Asked Questions: Appointments and the Process
1. What should I bring to my first appointment? If you have them, bringing discharge or medical reports for any previous diagnoses, a list of the medications you take and the results of any blood tests from the last 6 months will speed up the assessment. Reports in English, Turkish or another language are all helpful.
2. How long is an appointment, and what happens if I am late? Our first consultation and assessment sessions last around 45–50 minutes on average. To protect the quality of the session and respect other clients’ time, it is very important to arrive exactly on time.
3. Will I get a diagnosis at the first session, and will treatment start right away? The first session is a comprehensive clinical assessment. In most cases a preliminary diagnosis and a roadmap are set out in the first session; in some complex situations, however, further tests or observation sessions may be needed. The treatment plan (medication or therapy) is shared with you at the end of this assessment.
4. Are my sessions and the information I share kept confidential? Yes. All sessions are conducted under doctor–patient confidentiality and ethical rules with a 100% confidentiality principle. Except where required by law, your information is never shared with third parties or institutions without your permission.
5. Can I reach the doctor after my appointment? For urgent matters during treatment or questions about medication side effects, you can leave a message for my assistant through the practice’s contact line. You will receive a reply at the first opportunity outside clinic hours.
